It was cold and wet outside and dark even though it was midday. Hank had said he needed to mend some fence posts out in the far pasture and he wouldn’t come in for lunch. Mandy was on her own all day. She was finding that she missed him now when he didn’t come in for lunch; her first few weeks here, she had loved being alone. Things were changing.
