I can´t believe I managed to finish this! People, I love romance but this was just painful. Very predictable. So slow my head was melting. Nothing refreshing or new to win my interest. Not just because of the slow pace, the characters are not that great either. I guess it just didn´t get me. The writing style and dialogues are plain and repetitive. It's like I could not expect anything from this everytime I flipped a page. I had all the expected answers in my head before reading them. Frustration filled my world everytime I got through a chapter sadly. No element of surprise. Everything feels to easy.Cass and Dominic never manage to sway my attention to truelly like them. Mor'ded is like the bad version of the Joker in classy lord-like style. He is so evidently the bad guy, that he´s more like a decoration that bores you, more than a villain. Never did Katherine inhance this character to be more interesting or less expected. Its like there is a sign saying:"Folks...These are the good guys and this sarcastic looney guy is sooooo the bad guy!!!!!" I thought he could have been so much more developed and uncovered in that type of scenario were gossip and uncertainties spread like a plague in small room full of sick people.The dragon is like the voice of the reader who says the expected words for the lovers fate. Posibily the only character I liked, because of his personality. In my opinion the only worthy character in this book. He even hated his role to say the lines of his script. I appologize dearly. The Fire Lord's Lover was not that fab. Not even regular. Nore a quick read.I surely will not read the series. 2 stars is the best I can give for the writers efforts. --------------¡No puedo creer que logre terminarlo! El estilo y los diálogos en la escritura fueron simples y repetitivos. Es como si no pudiera esperar nada nuevo de este libro cada de vez que cambiaba de página. Tenía las respuestas acertadas en mi cabeza antes de leer lo que sucedía a continuación. Tristemente, mi mundo se llenó de frustración cada vez que terminaba de leer un capítulo.Ningún elemento de sorpresa. Todo es demasiado fácil. Cass y Dominic nunca logran captar mi atención para llegar a gustarme. MOr´ded es como una mala versión del Joker vestido de lord inglés. Es tan evidente que es el malo, que ni si quiera es un villano digno para mi. Simplemente una decoración que te aburre. Katherine nunca se aprovechó de este escenario para crear un villano mas interesante, mas que un loco por que si y no esperado.Es como si hubiera un cartel diciendo:"Gente...Estos son los buenos y el loco sarcástico es OBVIAMENTE el MALO!!!!!" Pensé que podría haberse desarrollado aun mejor y descubierto de otra manera. Especialmente en un contexto donde los rumores y las incertidumbres se esparcen como una plaga en una habitación pequeña llena de enfermos.El dragón es como la vóz del lector que pronuncia las palabras esperadas a los enamorados destinados.Posiblemente el único personaje que me gustó, por su personalidad. En mi opinión, es el mejor personaje del libro. Hasta él odio el rol que le dieron cuando dijo las líneas de su diálogo.Me disculpo sinceramente. The Fire Lord's Lover no es es fabuloso. No es ni regular. Y tampoco es una lectura rápida.No voy a leer el resto de la serie. 2 estrellas es lo mejor que puedo dar por el esfuerzo del escritor. Read for the VF bookclub.I did enjoy this book than I thought I would. Though the mix of Georgian historical romance with elves was at times a bit weird. Trying to imagine her doing the assassin or elven love dance in Georgian dresses made me giggle a bit, not gonna lie.The characters were nice, so was the romance. And I enjoyed the outdoor tea scene the most. But the ending was a wee strange.
