Certain elements in this book are based on true stories historical details from the dark chapters in the Catholic Church and the the cruel murder of the Cathars. The well researched details are what make this book such an exciting read. Ben Hope is an action packed hero, who, because of past unhappiness has a desire to help find missing children. The search for this secret takes him on the most incredible journey throughout France. An enjoyable read. I wasn't sure that I was going to like this book but was pleasantly surprised when I actually loved it. In many ways, it reminded me of the Da Vinci code as this is a similar kind of thriller. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read action packed stories set in multiple countries. It had everything that I like in a book. This is the first time I have read anything by this author but I'm looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
