This was a fun read for me because it took place in my old stomping grounds where I had my own experiences of homelessness for about two months. It's funny but I never thought of myself as homeless because I was a couch surfer and had all my worldly positions in the trunk of my car.I used to meet a friend in Baskin-Robbins'parking lot once a week and have a visit. We'd park next to each other and open the car door on the same side and catch up. We teased that we were sitting in the livingroom visiting. This was in the days before cell phones and personal computers. Like many of the other reviews mention, this book was not about homelessness as I thought it would be. A very small part of the book focuses on Bri being homeless, another slightly larger part focused on her background and the remainder of the book was focused on her long-distance relationship with a serious lack of common sense, and her huge focus on sex. In fact, I never finished the book and don't really feel a need to.
really enjoyed this book even though her writing isn't the best.

A good story but not the "guide" I hoped for.
