Just as exciting as the first book! I love the strength that runs through all of these characters (both good and evil). There are no wishy-washy characters here, just well rounded ones that make you love them, or hate them / root for them, or wish for their demise. Definitely a good read. I never wanted to put it down, and was always amazed at how many pages I had devoured in one sitting. Same thing with the first installment. Can't wait to read the third book! Great read. This is the sequel to The Enchantress (definitely not a stand alone!!) and for those who enjoyed the first book, I don't believe you'll be disappointed with this one! Although, I will admit, it did take me a minute or two to remember exactly who was who (and I had read the first book about a month or two ago) because, as in the first one, we continue to have multiple points of view. In this one, the heroes are fighting the Primate, trying to stop him from completing his plan. We see more of the Hazarans and even a new group that was briefly mentioned in the first novel. I've enjoyed watching Ella grow the most. She went from a naive young girl to a fairly confident woman. And I must say, Amber is becoming one who is quickly rising up to be a favorite character of mine for she, too, has come a long way. There is something of a...love triangle but it's actually done fairly well, in my opinion. As for content, the sexual situations have been toned down slightly in this one (still has some, just not quite as explicit, in my opinion. Still easily skimmed). And the ending...*mutters* No spoilers but there is closure (no cliff hanger!) with a little surprise to lead us into the next book. Will definitely be continuing this series!I received this book through Goodread's First Reads program.
