The first thing that took me in regarding this book was the title and cover. I am a sucker for nearly all things British, especially the Monarchy. Then when I read the description and learned it was a mystery, I went ahead and plunged in. I was not disappointed. This book was along the lines of a Dan Brown mystery/thriller and much like those books this one kept me riveted. If you can find the concept of a hunt for a possible lost heir to Queen Ann interesting, then this is your kind of book. I am going to have to check out the others in the series. Of the three Steve Robinson books, this was the least favourite of the three. This time we have an American genealogist racing around London trying to the trace the heirs of a Jacobite queen. All in all I found this one a bit too far fetched for me. I preferred the pace of the previous stories even with the multiple deaths. Having read the authors notes and seen that the book was originally intended as the first outing for our 'hero', I'm glad it wasn't.
See my comments on the second book in this series (To the Grave). This series does not disappoint.
