First off, I absolutely LOVE the cover. Seriously. Whenever there’s a discussion about pretty covers, this one comes to my mind first. I did a Cover Focus on it awhile back too! And it contains a great story. There were a few scenes that I can only describe as heart-melting – so sweet, and I loved them. Mystery and excitement abound in this book, making it a page-turner the whole way through! It’s a memorable read – I recommend it. Wow! What a fabulous novel with murder ,mystery, arranged marriages, money, revenge and romance; the cherry on top! I couldn't put it down once I got started. Even with the common culprit being an illegitament son, it wasn't an obvious who done it. Spoiler alert:Olivia stewart goes to mercy falls to see if Harrison bennett, her sister's fiancé suits her to marry since their family financial investment is tied to the two families joining. Olivia has other ideas about marrying for love, but first finding who murdered her sister. She uses her title lady Devonshire in order to remain unknown to the people including Harrison, her main suspect. She learns to like, trust, and even love Harrison over a period of time as she spends with him and he her. He seems to also be in the right places to rescue her from the attacks on her life. In the end, Harrison's valet is her half brother who is spoken of in her father's will. Eugene's cousin, Jerry and aunt, the steward's housekeeper had been plotting with forged notes and practiced voices to kill all the Stewart's for revenge and the money. Happy ending when Harrison and Olivia resolve their differences and embrace each other on their new life. I love how free Olivia becomes when she doesn't let society determine her actions.
