A very good book written by a WWII veteran, however, it was not simply about breaking into Auschwitz - that period is about 50 pages long and somewhere in the middle of fighting in the African campaign and hearing about how veterans returning from war were not treated fairly and how the diagnosis of PTSD was long overdue and led to a lot of good men losing themselves and the battle with their memories. The entire books covers his history from entering the war until a few years ago. Like I said, a good book, but don't read it thinking it will give you some vast insight into what really happened inside of Auschwitz.
