The Mortal Instrument Series: City Of Bones / City Of Ashes / City Of Glass / City Of Fallen Angels (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
I have just finished reading Hunger Games trilogy and after that Divergent series, so i thought to give this books a try. I love some hilarious conversation from Magnus Bane, and Simon Lewis, but other than that i thought that this is too lengthy of books without significant plot. You know it's like reading 5 books that should be contained into 3 books. It getting boring and boring. So, i would not really recommended this books to a friend. The ideas in this series were great and original, but the writing was immature, full of lazily written plot-holes, and was overall inconsistent. To start off, as the series goes on, Clare starts switch point of view more and more until it's almost impossible to keep up with the characters because it's a different one every three or so pages. And what Clare lacked in this series, with point of views, is that each character is supposed to have their own personality and way of thinking. Unfortunately, every single POV sounded exactly alike, and the only way to know which character you were even reading from was with the context or spaces between the text. Every single character, when viewed from the main POV, is strong and undeniably epic. But as soon as the POV switches to them, they instantly become winy babies who instantly become injured somehow, probably full of blood, are instantly in need of medical attention. But only when the reader is at their point of view. Otherwise, they're fine!I could go on and on about the never-ending plot-line riddled with gaping plot holes the size of Australia, or the overly-dramatic love story that instantly makes the characters into mindless puppies, or even the inconsistent POV's, but I honestly have better books to read.My time was wasted on this series. If you're looking to read it, I recommend reading the first book, where Clare's giant mistakes are slightly less noticeable, but stopping there. YOu can find better books than these.
What do You think about The Mortal Instrument Series: City Of Bones / City Of Ashes / City Of Glass / City Of Fallen Angels (2011)?
I can't figure out how to read the books :( can someone help please?
