The Mummy Case (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

I really enjoyed this book, I couldn't put it down! This was well written with very good character development. The main character is battling some demons that carry over into subsequent books. Having not read the first in the series I was able to easily follow the storyline and character development with no problem. The author does a great job of filling the reader in with enough information so as not to be lost. This book can easily be read as a stand alone. I look forward to reading the other books in the series. I did not like this book. I wanted very much to like it, but I did not. I did not feel sympathetic toward the characters. I did not find the core mystery intriguing at all. I gave it my best college try, but I could not finish it. I am happy I did not spend money for it.You know what else bugged me? A distinct lack of contraction usage in the dialogue, which made everything sound unnatural and stilted, just like the first part of my review.

What do You think about The Mummy Case (2000)?

This is the second Jim Knighthorse mystery that I've read. Both were thoroughly entertaining.
