The Only OneMegan VernonThis ARC was given by All Night Reads via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.I give this book 4 stars.....Melaine is the hard working college girl that pays her own way through school and does not take any breaks to relax and have fun. She comes from a broken home and can't commit herself to a relationship to risk the chance of feeling even more broken. After hours of hard work and studying, she is ready to let go and have a one night stand with John Walden (His fraternity brothers and friends know him as John Boy). Yes, from the hit television show, "The Walton's." Just when she is about to let go and have fun with John Boy, a phone call disrupts her entire evening and threatens her future. John is the typical frat boy with beautiful blue eyes and the body of a very hot MMA fighter (John likes to think of it as a professional wrestler's body) that finds a new girl to "hump and dump." He notices the insanely beautiful girl with curly hair in the front of his class taking notes with a pen and pad. He also notices how controlled and meticulous she is when ever he runs into her. It is then that he realizes he wants to be the one that makes her unwind and let go. However, he realizes that she sees him as more than just a hot body and that scares him shitless. When she finally agrees to to come undone with him, their night is interrupted by a phone call that completely devastates her. The deviation breaks her and he begins to fall for her the instant she spends the night crying into his chest. I really love this book and the chemistry that Mel and John Boy share on the pages. I enjoyed The Only Exception, but I loved reading this book. Ms. Vernon hit this one out of the park! Well done! I loved reading this book, I loved John, "I was right about how good that shirt would look on you." His lips were hot on my ear and linked a direct line to my panties." I loved the smarta** conversations they had: "Sorry. I'm not brave enough to walk around a party in a loincloth." He leaned in closer, his breath warm on my ear. "Yeah, but I wouldn't mind it if you did. Or just my bedroom." I loved how honest John was, "he placed his hands on the small of my back. "It's cool that you can't resist me. In fact it's pretty effing awesome, but I don't just want to get in your pants all the time." He has the best ideas, "if you don't want to, you don't have to, but I thought if I was going to use your shower we should conserve water and shower together."
What do You think about The Only One (2013)?
John was a charmer. Lucky for Melanie to have found a guy that truly cared for her.
