This book was interesting but a little predictable. Especially when it came to the character traits in the main characters. Ellie and Will kind of felt like stereotypes. And the main conflict also felt a little stale. There also wasn't that much chemistry between the two leads. I believed they cared about each other, but it just didn't feel like complete and all-consuming true love.Although I will continue to read this series. Why? Because of the other characters. The side characters like James and Jane. These characters feel more real and more flushed out. Hopefully this won't stop in their own book.I would recommend this book, but it isn't something I would put at the top of a TBR pile. This book is one of the most sweetest books I have ever read. The characters here are just lovely. Ellie is just a character you have no choice but to sympathize with and like. As for Will, you grow to love him and root for him to fight for Ellie (which he does do heroically). As a fan of historical fiction, I am incredibly impressed with this book; from the setting, characters, storyline. I just love it.
What do You think about The Other Countess (2010)?
This is a fun fast read that has some historical characters mixed in with a love story.
