Cole is an Alpha werewolf and will be the next leader of his pack. If he can get over his fear of public speaking and convince everyone that he is strong enough to lead the pack even though he is gay. Most of the pack just tends to ignore the "gay" part of Cole except his best friend Lindsay...but then Lindsay has his own problems. To make sure his pack is secure Cole agrees, begrudgingly, to an arranged marriage with the Alpha female from a neighboring pack. Then Cole meets Paris the son of the pack Alpha and the half brother of his betrothed. Once Cole sees the sexy, slinky cat Paris is all he can think about. Then Analiese skips out the day before the wedding and when the Alpha's decide that Cole can marry Paris to solidify the alliance you would think both men would be happy. But Cole doesn't want Paris out of obligation and Paris is a cat that just wants to roam no matter how much he is attracted to Cole. You have to respect a character like Cole, in doing what was best for his pack he could have been giving up his chance for a true mate. I like my Alpha's tough but caring. I thought it was great the way that Paris could see Cole's trouble with speaking in public and was always there to intervene. Watching them play off each other in public was touching but when they came together in private....that was just HOT HOT HOT!Great start to the series. I don't know how many books are planned but count me in for the ride! Okay, a book buddy DNF this book and I was curious about why. Go figure I devoured this book like crack. I couldn't put it down. I got a kick out of the Panther and his snarky cracks and the Wolf in question was sweet. The bad guy was bad the families were messy but loving. Yes, I wanted more of a War but that's okay I still enjoyed this one. Glad I'm a nosy reader. Thanks for the loan Dreamflyer!
