The Providence Trilogy Bundle (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
I probably would've enjoyed this better if I got them separately. Reading the trilogy in one bulk made it seem like it was a long, never ending book. I started this book during the summer and in between read other books. The Providence trilogy is very much like Twilight, except its with angels and there's no turning Nina into anything. I liked Jared but Nina could be very stubborn. She could be too stubborn and it made her annoying. I enjoyed the ending but was sad to see the death of a character. I liked the bickering between Claire and Ryan. Bex was sweet, cute and funny. I enjoyed this trilogy it was just a bit drawn out. I would recommend it but as individual books were it looks like you're making progress as you read. The female lead was pretty whiny. Overall it reminded me alot of Twilight but that's not necessarily a good thing. There were times when I wanted to shake Nina and slap her all while saying "toughen up, c'mon girl, get it together and quit crying". The storyline itself was intriguing but the weakness of Nina was quite distracting; woman are not always weak so I was disappointed that a female author would write her that way. She gets stronger in the 3rd book but not until after her weakest moment...I would be interested in a story with Claire and Ryan though, she was more my speed. A tough and independent woman that took control of her situation instead of cried about it.
