The Quantum Universe: Everything That Can Happen Does Happen (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
This book is good for anyone who has recently taken an introductory modern physics course in college (as I just have done, the book is a good recap of the course) or someone interested in a basic understanding of what quantum mechanics is about (it might take a few re-readings of some paragraphs to thoroughly grasp it). The authors use a clock metaphor to describe many phenomena that I didn't like, but just think of the clocks as waves (which is what they represent anyway). The last few chapters are a bit esoteric, but overall this is a good book. The language is cryptic, and the subject of conversation in each chapter jumps around constantly, only staying on topic at the beginning, a few parts in between, and at the very last sentence. The only reason I gave it two stars and not one is because it is about physics by physicists, which I admire. This book might be good for somebody who isn't very familiar with science/physics done in the past few hundred years, but does have a good vocabulary (or a dictionary handy!).
What do You think about The Quantum Universe: Everything That Can Happen Does Happen (2011)?
Mind-Boggling, but if you're interest is quantum physics - a good book to start off with.
