Oh... oh wow... oh oh oh wow!!! Hey, ok, so I'm officially obsessed...? What's the issue with that?Ok, at first I didn't like Loor. I hate deserts. What's to like about the story? Clearly, plenty. Actually, I'm behind with the reviews- now, I've read the seventh as well. SWEET! IT'S AWESOME! Wait, right, this book.Ok, first object... Story. The story is shocking as always. It's just getting better. He has the usual incredible twist at the end. And my my my- what an incredible twist. And did I mention the incredible twist at the beginning? If you're looking for it, you would't call it a twist at all. It's just something that happens that hasn't happened before, really. It affects everything after it, though nothing really changes permanently. It was written with incredibleness. Seriosly. Just... the story... oh wow. It's so amazing! I'm in love with these books! -happy squeal- Sorry, but they're great. They aren't getting darker per-say- but the stakes feel very raised. I am more and more attached to each traveler and their causes.Ok, second object... Characters. Still amazing, still amazing. Actually, I noticed that each traveler is really great. The side characters sort of lack... I mean, they're only there for five seconds, so why bother? Point is, most of the side characters have been the same. Although, MacHale seems to be growing out of that. The side characters in this weren't so bad. Also, Mark and Courtney are less horrendous. In fact, I'm starting to sympathize for Courtney... I actually kinda like her. Mark, less so, but... no, I suppose I like him too. What does that say for the book? A lot. Things just keep getting better, oh boy.Oh my. Incredibility. In this book. Seriously :PMaybe I'm over exaggerating because I just read it...?Anyway, it's still funny and charming as ever, short as ever, but AWESOME as ever. Emotional, fun, what more could you ask for?
Bobby Pendragon's pursuit of the evil Saint Dane leads him into the dangerous territory of Zadaa, which is locked in a civil war between two rival tribes. This story takes place mainly on a territory called Zadaa. There will be two main tribes here: The Rokador and the Batu. The Rokador live in tunnels underground and are fair-skinned, while the Batu are dark-skinned and live in a sunbathed city called Xhaxhu in the desert. For years, the Rokador have relied on the Batu to protect them from other savage tribes on Zadaa, and the Batu have relied on the Rokador to provide them with water. But the Rokador seem to be holding back the water, causing all the Batu to starve.The struggle of good versus evil continues as Bobby Pendragon follows Saint Dane to the territory of Zadaa. Saint Dane's influence has fueled the fire of discontent between two warring tribes: the Rokador and the Batu. This is also the territory where the Traveler Loor lives as a member of the Batu. Together she and Bobby must work to defeat Saint Dane's efforts to destroy Zadaa.When they find that the water is being held by the Rokador, they try and not let the Batu die. They were planning on trying to floor the city of the Batu. They escape, Bobby loves Loor. They go Loors house in the city of the Batu. They stopped the war. The next day, Loor takes Bobby to the Flume, and outanowhere, Saint Dane comes through the Flume. He strikes Loor and kills her. Then Bobby and Saint Dane battle. Saint Dane has a very long sword, Bobby only has a wooden stick. Saint Dance knocks the stick out of Bobby's hand. Saint Dane charges at Bobby. What does bobby do next?I really loves this book, i think it was the best out of the 5 others i have read. This book truly deserved 4/5. There could of been a bit more action but it was still a great book!
What do You think about The Rivers Of Zadaa (2006)?
After all these years I'm a little disappointed that this book didn't flow as fast as it did the first time I read it. A lot of the parts in the book put me to sleep honestly I really didn't care about Courtney's problems or Mark for that matter. You know I really do like them as characters but this book consisted of a third of them. There were some vital parts with them, but it still wasn't as interesting as what was going on with Bobby.Bobby has followed the battle against Saint Dane to Zadaa, Loor's home. Loor is my favorite character next to Bobby and in this book you really get the sense of who she is outside of being a warrior. Bobby also see this and is fallin' head over heels for her, but its complicated since he's nearly beaten to a pulp, has to train so he can defend himself on this warrior territory, and save two tribes for a famine and war. It a lot to do while falling in love with your fellow Traveler. The stort progressed a little more sluggishly than I remember. I found myself speed reading a little. Toward the end there are alot of vital and interesting things that happen and questions raised. So even though there is some disappointment, I still had a good time. On to the next one.

Bobby Pendragon is trying to figure out how to save the universe, and he has no real idea how to do it. He only knows that he needs to fight against whatever his enemy Saint Dane is planning. Sometimes he does it well, other times, not so well. I have read this series exclusively electronically on my phone...so I read it when I am in-between places, waiting for something else to happen, etc. Therefore, I have been reading it over a rather long time and I sometimes forget certain elements of the overall story. However, little pieces of the story really hit home occasionally. I enjoyed this book more than some of the others in series because the incidents with Saint Dane were quite a bit different. For openers, Saint Dane tries to kill Bobby outright, which is a new twist. I enjoyed Bobby's realization that he is more than a little bit different than his friends back on Second Earth. I liked being able to work a little harder to attempt to figure out Saint Dane. This installment of the series is similar to the other stories of the series in many ways, but in a few key issues it really shakes things up. Looking forward to what will happen next...

I have really loved the Pendragon series since I read the first five installments as a teenager, and I was very interested to know what happens next. It seems to be the consensus that this book is less intense and more formulaic than the ones before it: the main character, a dimension-traveling hero arrives in a strange new world, undergoes the trials therein, uncovers a plot that will lead to the worlds destruction, has a Rocky-like training montage, and goes to save the world, all while tiny bits of the overarching story line are peppered in. At the end of this book though, I just didn't feel like I could handle waiting four more books and going through countless, ultimately pointless side quests, just to figure out what the hell the real story is, and what’s underneath everything, so I spent about another hour or so just flipping through the remaining books in the series to see what the hell is really going on and how things end. (view spoiler)[For the record, it was a little disappointing, but I doubt I’ll ever return to this series to read the fully fleshed-out versions of the final four installments. (hide spoiler)]
