The Summer I Turned Pretty (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
how do i even start with these book?honestly, i'm kind of having mixed emotions about this one.the plot is great, the story is awesome, the setting is AMAZING and i fell in love with all the characters instantly, literally EVERYONE, right down to suzannah to camthey were all so squishy and oh my god so perfect, i mean.. steven is probably is the closest character to a real life brother cam is so adorable and nerdy and HE DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER my little bb ;_;the brothers were perfectioni especially loved laurel and suzannah's friendship (i would totally read about a book about their friendship and just... their perfection)the only thing i didnt like about it, was probably the main character herself.she annoyed me soooo freaking much, i almost gave up on the book so many times.shes always complaining about everything not going her wayshe attacks on other girls just because shes jealous and insecureextremely obnoxious and full of herself. but everything in the book besides her made up for it. overall, it was okay, but i dont know if ill read the second one in the trilogy(but maybe i will if id see some character development on belly :) ) This book was given to me by a close family friend and it took three years before i decided to read it. I was immediately swept away with the brilliance of the story. I could, like most girls, relate to almost every situation displayed in the first book. As soon as i finished reading it I went to Barnes and Noble right away to get the other two books. I would love to see what happens after the end of the third book because I never want the story to end.

2.5 stars. Entertaining, but Belly is one of the most punchable MCs ever.
