The epic love story continues in the second book of the series. I highly recommend reading the first book before embarking on this one. I somehow ended up not knowing there was a book that took place before this one when I started reading. On the few occasions this had happened before, I would stop reading and go get the first book and read it before going back to the second. That did not happen this time, I got so wrapped up in the story of this one that I just couldn't stop. There were so many twists and turns in the story I had a hard time putting it down. Not reading the first book did leave me scrambling to catch up with who was who in the grand scheme of things but it didn't leave me completely lost. I continue this series because I want to know what's going to happen, and find out about the nefarious goings-on. This series is pretty decent despite it writing short-comings. There are still quite a few typos, some of the writing is saccharine, and a lot of the characters are rather one dimensional, the writing seems a bit juvenile. This series reminds me a little of Twilight, minus the vampires and werewolves, only its not nearly as well written. I'll still finish the trilogy, though I don't know that I'll seek out any future works by Colvin.
