The Testimony Of Taliesin Jones - Plot & Excerpts

It is two days now since Taliesin took his warts to Billy. Two wart-watching tenterhooking days spent waiting for a miracle, thinking about the as yet unanswered prayer. Billy told him to be patient, to wait on God -who is good to those who wait on Him. He said that God was a mover of warts and mountains alike, that there was no detail too small for Him to fix. God could have them disappear in a trice if He wanted to, or He might decide to bide His time. There was no telling. God worked to His own timing, not to the prearranged tick-tocking of clocks and calendars or even the unseen changing of a Skin Clock. God was in the past, present and future all at the same time according to His will, he said.
In two days Taliesin's doubt has spread like pins and needles through his body, numbing his belief that something is going to happen. Last night, as he read and finished his book his eyes kept moving to his hands, hoping to find clean skin. The Eleven looked back at him, rude with health, challenging his belief.
