The Traitor In The Tunnel (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
The Traitor in the Tunnel is an AMAZING book by Y.S. Lee, a trilogy to the Mary Quinn series, that's situated in Victorian London. The book has an intricate plot about Mary Quinn,an orphan who has had an interesting past from a distinct family tree and a creative criminal record. Mary Quinn somehow survived her death sentence, through a kind benefactor and now has blossomed to do something big. In this book, she serves as chambermaid in Buckingham Palace, to investigate where some of the Queen's prized objects slowly disappear. This book gives women in the Victorian era chance to show their true selves and be able to work and have their own adventure. If you're into mystery and romance, this book is definitely for you! The third in a series and started out well but the climax was "anticlimactic." I like the details about Victorian Era London and the continuation of various characters. I also really like that you can read any of the series individually and enjoy the story without feeling lost as the author fills you in just enough that you understand who the various characters are and what has been going on in the story.

I love this series and this character. Very good book, as usual. I could barely put it down.

This book was just barely tolerable. Which is why it took so long to read.
