I Thought this book was amazing for my taste in reading because I love books that I can relate with. In this book a whole lot of the book was about football. Football is one of my favorite activity's. This is for sure one of my favorite books I have ever read because of how much I can compare to this book. It only took me about a week to read this book, not because it is to easy but because it makes me want to keep reading and never drop the book. I have never read a Chapter book in only one week so this really showed that I liked this book. I would recommend this book to all my friends that play football. I know that I am gonna start reading more books about interest's, like in this book they were trying to beat they're rival team they lost against the year before because the main character Will dropped they're hail marry pass last year and lost the game for them. Now this season they barley had enough players to have a complete football team they only had 11 players, on my team we have 30 and still have trouble winning games. They find them selves with a 5-2 record so they only would have to beat one more team until they got to go against Castle Rock they're rival team. Castle Rock was undefeated and were 8-0 so they will make to the championship no problem. Last year my team went 1-4-2 we only won one game and tied two game with the same score 0-0. So it was easy for me to relate to this because some of the time Will felt like they would never win, I felt the same way. This book to me is for sure a 5 start book. If you haven't read this book you should for sure give it a try. I came across the book Underdogs by Mike Lupica at the libary and I heard of the book from some friends. The book is about a boy named Will Tyler who is twelve years old and loves football. But his team broke apart because their rival Castle Rock has a lot of money and everybody is going to that team except for Will. Will has to raise money, find a coach, field, and players to keep the team but they have little money to do that. So Will gets a letter from the new balance manager and he said he will sponsor the team. So Will Tyler's team has to play the rich kids from castle rock in the championship game and Will Tyler's team wins. The major themes in the book are to never give up and work to your best ability even when times are tough. I knew from the beginning of the book that Will Tyler's team would win the championship. I liked how the book was written because the author Mike Lupica always has a good style in his writing. I would recommend this book to six graders to eighth graders. I enjoyed the book and if you are interested in football you will like the book too!
