This is the third novel written by Rain that I have read, and it will be the last. The only reason I bothered with it is because I got all three in a freebie bundle for my Kindle.As they say, Rain shouldn't have quit his day job. His work leans far too heavily on tropes and formulae. His characters are painfully stereotypical and one-dimensional. Finally, each of the books I read had an inexcusable level of typos and other errors that an editor should have caught. I'm not sure how I feel about this author or this book/series yet. This was my first time reading J.R. Rain. I've heard good reveiws but so far I'm still not sure. I didn't love this, didn't even become invested in it in any way.. but I have the next book and I plan on reading it. This was such a short story it didn't get involved much so I'm hoping the next one will be more in depth.. we'll see.
