The Voynich Cypher (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

This was one of those books that I kept saying just one more chapter and then I'll go to sleep, but I could never find a good place to stop. There were a lot of twists and turns, and it reminded me a little bit of the DaVinci Code, but with more witty dialogue and some romance.Of all the Russell Blake books I've read, I like the lead character, Dr. Steven Cross, the most. I hope to see Dr. Cross in another book soon since he's my book boyfriend. This is a book with no merit. I was tricked into reading it because of its title but was quickly very disappointed. The book is an obvious attempt to mimic Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code and it fails at all levels. I don't even like the Da Vinci code that much but at least it has the redeeming quality that it uses real facts about his art to link it the book's fiction. There is also an element of suspense. The Voynich Cycpher on the other hand, provides no insights whatsoever into the Voynich manuscript except mention a few facts off the wiki page. The story is built like a bad movie script, with no suspense at all and utterly predictable evolution. But the most infuriating flaw of the book is that all the characters are conversing using the exact same style of teenage lingo.

What do You think about The Voynich Cypher (2012)?

Fast paced, well written story. I preferred this to the Geronimo Breach.
