The Walking Dead, Vol. 18: What Comes After (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

So, let's see. The crew argues with each other over petty stuff? Check.Carl does something stupid and comes out unscathed? Check. The round robin tournament of swapping romantic partners continues? Check. Some psychotic jackass spends more time terrorizing peaceful folk instead of focusing on the zombies? Check.Rick has a secret plan? Check. It's still good, but it's just a bit repetitive since we have seen every scenario presented here elsewhere in the series. Surely there was a patient zero for whatever infected most of mankind, but Rick and his crew are sort of the patient zero for screwing up things for everyone else. I don't even remember the name of the last community they inadvertently ruined. Now they're ruining Hilltop, the closest thing to a safe place they've found in a long time. They must have some sort of honing beacon for attracting psychotic folks. This new guy and his trusty Lucille make the Governor look like a kitten. The miraculous injury survival is also a stretch. Seriously, we've seen a hand amputated, childbirth, and a bullet to the eyeball cared for with basically aspirin and Band-Aids. Bullet Review:No more deaths, just a crazy-@$$ insane sociopath. And coming from the series that had the atrocity of the Governor, that's saying A LOT.Carl continues to astound, not only because he survives with an enormous hole in his head, but because everyone around him seems totally OK with raising him to be the next sociopath/serial killer. I would very much like to strangle that kid - after, of course, doing that to Rick "Marty Stu" Grimes for being a dictator. Of course, he is God at this point, so of course he knows better than anyone else how to totally screw themselves over - I MEAN! - lead the colony.King Ezekiel may be the best damn thing that's happened to this series in a LONG time. If Kirkman kills him, I'm going to pout. Loudly.
