The Wolf's Mate Book 5: Bo & Reika (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
It's really hard to pick a favorite in this series because I've loved them all but I think is it. I absolutely love Bo. He thinks himself a lesser wolf because of his leg injury even though he is just as honorable as the rest of the top ranked males. He's not third rank for no reason. He is pulled from the hunt with his pack by a scent and feeling he can't ignore. He finds a she-wolf who is injured and trying to defend herself from three were-lynxes and does the only thing he knows and defends her against them. He didn't realize she was his mate at first but he knew something was telling him to take care of her so he did. He would come to realize she was his mate but was still determined to set her free because he saw himself as broken. He just needed his healer mate to make him whole again and not just his leg but his heart too.Reika was very young when her mating was arranged to the were-lynxes in exchange for her brothers life. Now that the day she's supposed to go to them has command she hasn't found a way to break the debt she decides to run. She gets help from the WAA, Were-Animal Alliance, who helps weres escape from abuse or the like but she doesn't get very far. The three lynxes she's promised to are right on her heals. They catch up to her and just when she thinks its over Bo comes to her rescue. She knows how to break the blood debt but refuses to tell him throughout the whole story because she will not let him risk his life and probably die fighting all three lynxes himself. I loved seeing Bo and Reika together. They were really cute together. I loved that her brother Ben joined their pack so he can work at the restaurant with Karly. In the very beginning when she was talking to him and described his cooking I knew he'd eventually work there. I knew Logan was going to be a good addition to e pack and he proved it by defending Karly and Reika from the lynxes at the restaurant. I liked seeing the new little pack that is staying just outside Allen to take over the bar again too. They needed someone new in the area. I loved the ace Bo had up his sleeve when it came time to fight the lynxes. And no one better to fight with him than Ben and Shayne. It was awesome. Can't wait to continue the series. This has quickly become one of my favorite series. R.E. Butler has such a way of telling her stories that allow the reader to escape into this wonderful world she created. The stories are well written and entertaining and filled with such lovable interesting characters that you just can't help but root for their HEA. I fall more in love with these characters with each new story. This was definitely one of my favorites of the series along with Jason & Cadence and Linus & The Angel. I have been waiting for Bo's book ever since reading Jason & Cadence and I was so not disappointed!! Bo *sigh*~ Just loved him!! Reika was such a great character~she was the perfect heroine for him. I was immediately drawn to her and her story. The beginning of the book definitely had my heart pounding~so good!! I was pulled right into the story and was nervously waiting for Reika to make her way to Bo. Bo...He was so sweet and caring and he had suffered so much pain with his leg both physically and emotionally. I loved how Bo and Reika new that they were mates but denied it because bother were trying to protect the other. They just wanted the best for each other. The definitely had some HOT sex!! Oh... and the scene with them outside and Bo with the ice~Yikes!! lol I loved the scene when Bo tells Reika that she can't lick other men to heal them without him being there with her. So funny. They were so adorable together. I loved being able to continue to read about some of my favorite characters~Jason and Cadence, Linus and Karly, Michael and Shyne, and Logan. Oh...I cannot wait for Logan's book next. I am also so interested in Shane and his brothers and I hope that even though they are of a different pack, they will get their own books also. Bo's story was definitely worth the wait and I am so looking forward for more in the series. 4 out of 5 rating!!***ARC provided by R.E. Butler~Thank you so much!!
