Burke and Cole Lennox, both ex SEALs, have their own security business and for the past year have been caught up in rescuing girls from a kidnap and slavery ring run by Delgado. The previous christmas they met Jessa Wade, an innocent virgin, looking after her aunt's hotel. Within a week she'd gone from a virgin to a menage relationship with the Lennox brothers and they all professed their love for each other. Then the brothers leave to follow a lead regarding Delgado. A year later Jessa is in danger and the men go to her rescue and are surprised to find she's had a baby, no guesses who the father(s) are.The brothers always share their women and this I find weird. I've read menage books before and I've never found the men to be as creepy. Why would brothers want to watch each other having sex with the same woman? It is not a turn on for me.I'm not anti swearing, I've not got a problem with it at all but every other paragraph had one of the characters saying fuck or a derivative of the word in an attempt to add tension and urgency. If you want a book with a little plot, improbably relationships, unsophisticated writing and repetitive sex scenes, you may love this book. This might be a 3.5 for me however what brings it down is the heroine. Half the time I wanted to shake Jessa until her brain rattled. She was so angry and yeah she had a right to be, but yet at the same time, the guys WERE trying to save like, a whole bunch of sex slaves. Yeah, they should have called, but once she knew and understood what they were doing and WHY, to hang on to it? Yeah, I know, books need angst but...it got a bit over the top when she just wouldn't let it go. The best part for me was the end, when Jessa was actually able to help save herself and then, the very end, with the whole way it resolved. Though I wasn't exactly thrilled that the guys felt they had to give up something to have their family. A woman shouldn't have to do that, nor should a guy (or in this case, guys.) I don't know, maybe I was just being surly when I read it, but it just kinda pissed me off. I will read the next in the series though, since it's about the Sheikh and his brothers. I'm a sucker for Sheikhs. :D
What do You think about Their Virgin's Secret (2000)?
Shayla Black and Lexi Blake have a talent for writing excellent novels. In Their Virgin's Secret Burke and Cole leave the woman they love to go deep undercover in South America relying only on reports from private investigator they hired for updates on Jessa. They never once suspected those reports were falsified, causing them to leave Jessa believing she'd been abandoned. Now with Jessa's life at risk they have to discover the truth and keep each other safe, and come to an understanding on if they can live happily ever after.
