Why don't people talk more about this novel? I picked it randomly from the YA shelf at my library, because I couldn't find anything I was looking for. I thought it seemed like it would be boring but I was incredibly wrong. There is so much to love. The characters are incredible, the details are astounding, the plot is terrifically well-created. I am amazed. I will definitely be reading more from this author. I was totally hooked and terrifically intrigued by the storyline at first. By the end, I just felt repulsed. I despise how the author villainized the married couple who made the deeply personal decision that is the basis for the plot. She entwined the desire to not have children, and to have money, be free, and buy nice things, with the villainous traits of heartlessness, coldness, and greed. After all it wasn't the plot or the writing that filled me with contempt - it was the author's underlying beliefs and values.
