Through My Eyes (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

When I read this book almost three years ago, I really had no clue who Tim Tebow was or that he was considered the best college football player ever to take the field. It was during Tim's best and sadly most active year as a NFL player when he leapfrogged from the third string position to the starting position that I first heard about him. Every time I logged onto Yahoo, there always seemed to be at least three news stories on him. Not really paying attention to what was actually being reported I honestly thought it was another football player getting in trouble with the law. I finally decided to actually look into who this Tim Tebow was and I was pleasantly surprised by his story and what was going on with the Broncos that year. While checking books in at the library, Tebow's book happened to be in the bin. I checked it out and loved it immediately. While many people have preconceived notions regarding his religion and his football abilities, I honestly didn't let either of those thoughts get in the way while reading his book. I feel that when it comes to Tebow many people just getting a little to deep into those discussions to really get that Tim doesn't waste his time worrying about the naysayers. An inspirational read that starts off with his younger years and gets into great detail his four years at the University of Florida. I did get a little confused through some of the sections that described how different plays were used during games. Those that are big football fans will love those technical discussions greatly. Tebow has vast football that does not go unnoticed. Each chapter starts with an inspirational biblical verse that relates to the chapters topic. I recommend this book to any football fan. This was a pretty fascinating book from a sports figure you either love or hate. Obviously, I'm a Gator, so I love Tebow and his book made me giggle quite a bit. It was interesting to read his words and seeing how passionate he is and how he doesn't give up on anything. Whether you agree with his religious views or not, this is a great book with lessons on how hard work and passion can get you far in life.
