Although the book's concept initially intrigued me, the book tended to drag and rely too much on sexual scenes. The scenes didn't feel realistic as there was very little emotionally connecting the two characters. I doubt they both would've fallen in love with each other that quickly without the emotional connection apparent. Also, the female character didn't seem realistic to me. I didn't understand her motives. It was all a highlander tale should be. With a hot and dominate male character and a bold and fierce woman at his side.. I had my up and downs with this tale. At one point I thought it dragged on but than it would speed up to my kind of pace that I fell in love with Torin from the very beginning. He was just everything every woman would want for a man. Someone powerful and kind and caring strong man. I mean who wouldn't want that. He is a fierce warrior ready to defend the helpless and treats women equally.. :D And Shannon is a very one kind of woman. She is strong and loyal and does not bend to any man's will especially not her father who is vile man who thinks daughters are a curse and only good for selling. Sick sick sick man. glad he got the ending he deserved, :) It made me laugh and would frustrate me when Torin was willing to protect Shannon and she would keep refusing.. It annoyed me because that she would refuse him so many times even though you could tell Torin really cared for and was falling in love with her and all wanted was to keep her happy and safe but the ending was truly sweet. :D
This book wasnt exactly what I was looking for in a highlander book. But it was decent enough.
