*WARNING- may contain SPOLIERS*I generally like this book. It was humorous, detailed, and very good. I liked the characters, especially Dad, Mum and Miss Suzanne. Even though Melissa was introduced a lot in this book, I think that Jacquline should have added more character to her. Maybe talk more about Melissa. I think that it would have been nice if Melissa stuck up for Marty when Katie and Ingrid were picking on her, to add more passion to Melissa so we can find out more. But overall the book is great, especially the end bit. There definitely should of Been more of MATTIE! Jacqueline please make it into a trilogy! The Worst Thing About My Sister is about Marty and Melissa. Marty and Melissa are sisters and are completely different! Marty is a tomboy and Melissa is a girly girl who loves pink and Justin Bieber. Their mum surprises them and says they need to share a room. The girls are devastated. They hate sharing a room and have arguments daily. But then an accident occurs, which makes them realise they are closer than they thought! This book is very funny and made me remember sharing a room with my sister! I don’t think I would read this in Literacy lessons, but I would read this as a class book at the end of a day. I would ask the children to read parts to the class. I would also ask the children to act out parts, exploring the characterisation. This book would be good for discussion with the whole class, children could pluck information from the book and explore through talking to the other children. I think Year 2 and 3 would really enjoy this book!
