Tote Jungs Küsst Man Nicht (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

Okay it worked itself out and it got rid of some of her forced snark. I think she grew up in this book, so I might just have to read the next one. This series is a refreshing take on vampires and werewolves. It sticks to the what would happen if a normal regular person turned into a vampire. The series has that I'm just normal and some weird stuff keeps happening to me vibe and I really like that, however it must have been published after the Stephanie Plum novels came out and her publisher kept saying write more quick witted scenes and make her a little more quirky. In the other Molly Harper book I read with the use of this same style of heroine, it seemed normal. In this one it just continues to feel unnatural. This one wasn't nearly annoying as the first book.I actually laughed occasionally. However, it wasn't that great. Not much actually happened. It was entirely centered around the wedding. There was no danger, no threatening situations. Just whiny people bitching.I hate hate hate Jane's family.I figured out who the baddie was as soon as she walked in.Adam was mildly interesting at first. For about two seconds.I realized something towards the end of the book... well, two things. 1) Jane is really boring. And a bitch. Really, she's not that nice a person when it comes down to it. And 2) If I imagine her as Amanda Bynes and her quirkiness, she is mildly more entertaining. (But that also could have been a lot to do with Amanda Ranconi's narration.)I only started this one because I had to stop the book I was listening to due to technical difficulties and this is the only other one I had on my player at the time.Still not sure if I'll read the rest of the series or not.

What do You think about Tote Jungs Küsst Man Nicht (2011)?

I must admit that I really like Molly Harper's style of writing. It's witty and simple but that makes it perfect for me!This book picks up with Zeb and Jolene's relationship. Jolene's family trying to roughhouse with Zeb and Mama Ginger trying to stop her baby boy from getting hitched. While I guess it really didn't have much plot to it, the book was a really fun read. I rather enjoyed listening to it on my walks. It made for a light and breezy laugh out loud journey as I passed houses decorated for Halloween while snorting about Jane's hijinks.I did wish that it revolved more around Jane's turn into vamperism like the first book, I must admit it was very very clever of the author to make it center around the book Jane was reading, a werewolf book about mating rituals.I've read that most people weren't wowwed with this book and while I was able to figure out the ending, it won't stop me from reading/listening to the next book.

Not as good as the other Molly Harper books I've read, including the first one in this series, but it's still worth a read for continuity. The issue I had with this book was twofold - there was WAY too much time spent on the "momma ginger" storyline (relating to Zeb's upcoming wedding) with a very predictable and unsatisfying outcome, and what seemed to be the main storyline between Jane and Gabriel went nowhere fast, and is supposedly continued in the next book. Felt like a bait and switch. That said, I still lover her humor and will keep reading!
