Okay, so this title is one of the most fitting titles I have ever seen! Get ready to cry like a baby. Go buy your tissues first with this one. OMG! I am in shock I think. I am a total wreak right now and I feel like I need some time here. I will not be reading for days because of this book! WOW! Drake, oh Drake! I do love you and I really, really want to hate Presley but, for some reason I love her too. At times I hated her but others I really loved her. This story got to me so bad. I really don't want to give it away. This is a book that when someone asks me I would say "pick it up, you just have to read it to understand" I am saying that to you all now! PICK IT UP! READ IT! M.S. Brannon just keeps getting better with each page I read written by her. I do hope that you all give her a try! This is the first book by M. S. Brannon that I read, I received a copy in exchange of an honest review.I think this is one of the best books that I read this year. The tragic love story between Drake and Presley, who live in the hell of the city so aptly named Sulfur Heights, is breathtaking, stirring a multitude of opposite emotions in the heart of the reader and the book per se is a page turner, leaving one eager for more to know about the characters and what happens to them in the future.Presley is a sad figure, cursed by depression ever since she can remember, had the love and tender care of her parents and best friend Delilah to keep her on track, and finds delivered to the cruelty of her uncle once her parents die suddenly. She is saved from the slow descent into hell and a certain death at her crazy uncle hands by the Evans family and finds a new balance in Drake, one of the Evans boys. The problem is depression, dependent personality and fear to deal with her problems, spiral her down into drug addiction and almost sever the connection with her loved ones. It takes all the true love from Drake, Evans girl and boys as well as her true friend, devoted Delilah, to pull her back and give her enough hope to hang on to life. Drake is the perfect young man, someone every single woman would be happy to have by her side-he has an unwavering love, support and understanding for Presley all along their soulful journey. The secondary characters are all strong and lively, even the important, but marginal, Carter is pretty impressively built.M.S. Brannon is an accomplished story teller, the style is poignant and the book extremely compelling and well written.I look forward to reading the other books in the Sulfur Heights series.
What do You think about Tragic Love (2013)?
It lacked compared to Scarred Love, in my opinion. The last 30% ish was the best/worst.
