Before I read it I wrote: “This will make or break whether I continue to be an almost-fan of Chris Brogan.”This book pleasantly surprised me. Unfortunately there were sections of the audiobook where the speaker (I think it was Julien) was tailing sentences into quietness, making it hard to listen to. Aside from that I did take away a solid collection of useful methods and principles that are very applicable to my day to day dealings with people and businesses.Mr Brogan – I continue to be an almost-fan. In Trust Agents, Julien Smith and Chris Brogan reveal effective and practical ways to employ social networking sites to make your brand irresistible and to enhance your reputation. Trust is a big issue on the web and especially on social media but how do you get to influence your audience and to win their trust? Brogan and Smith show that by finding social network influencers (the trust agents) you can engage them, win their trust and in turn win over those who they influence.I agree with the key premise of this book. It is not always easy to just get in there on Facebook or Twitter or any social network and win people over immediately. You need to earn their trust and one of the best ways to do this is to take advantage of those influential social networkers. These people will spread the word about your brand, gaining you visibility and influence in the process. The book does a good job of offering action steps that you can apply to leverage social media and to pull the trust agents to your side. This is a recommended read for anyone looking to take their social media campaign to the next level.
Pretty good take on the current and constantly changing landscape of social media.
