In my opinion this book was most likely like a children book which I was so clueless to realize. The story of these two adventurers is very interesting and shows not only the heart of humans but as animals as well. I suggest this book to children or young teens who are looking forward to reading the results of hurricane Katrina and how animals had to survive without the help of humans and rely on each other. I don't normally rate children's books, but after this book had me in tears while I was reading it to Maddie, I had to share with my friends. What a heartwarming story about two pets that survived Hurricane Katrina together. Their story of survival and the fact that they were adopted by a woman who had two Boston Terriers to keep them company had the tears rolling down my face. To all of my friends with children or to all the pet lovers, I recommend checking this out!
My fifth graders loved this story and wrote great responses about the Big Idea of Friendship.
