Un Click: Jeff Bezos Y El Auge De Amazon.com (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

Read this on the bus, in Flock Cafe (Ghim Moh branch), and the bus back. Hahaha. Ahhh so inspired (again) by such entreprenurial stories. The front was about a little negative, but it's interesting to hear another story other than the tired Steve Jobs one IMO. And personally I think Amazon is really easy to use- they really ship fast- received my HONY stuff super quickly! Gripe though-Kindle ebooks still not available to SG. Ah well. Also very scary to note how big ideas need big leaders and an enormous amount of faith and confidence in oneself to keep going. Crazy huh? We know that if we can keep our competitors focused on us, while we stay focused on the customerPeople don’t just buy books because they need books. There are products like that. Pharmaceuticals are that way. Nobody enjoys browsing the preparation H counter. But people will gladly spend hours in a bookstoreAlways put the customers first, even if it appears to require a decision that would decrease revenuesEven if [the] future seems to be years off. Just thinking of the idea may bring about [the] future more quicklyWork hard, have fun, make history - Amazon company sloganOne of the things that you learn in a rural area like that is self-relianceYou become really self-sufficient when you work with the landObstacles are only obstacles if you think they’re obstacles. Pretty bland writing. You'll get a good overview but it isn't particularly insightful.
