Heard about this series at GRL in October - was fascinated by the concept and checked it out.I found a pretty good series here, although some suspension of belief has to be given, even with this series being about shifters (i.e., the people turn completely into wolves; not a man-wolf you'd find in a werewolf story). This is book 1; I've read all five in the series to date. The first one sets up the world in which they live and does a good job at it. I did think there needed to be a little more conflict and that one of the MCs didn't need to cave in so quickly without further explanation, although the concept behind finding your mate and the consequences are touched upon on book 4.Good solid start to the series; yes, a little on the pricey side when compared to other shifter stories of the same length, but enjoyable nonetheless. *squint* I've read this before. And I feel like I've reviewed it. Either this is another disappeared review or I haven't reviewed it.Yeah, consummate pulp. Pulpity pulp pulp. Meeting, denial, SEX.Stuff, characters, people, SEX.Oh, yeah, and it has a lot of SEX in it.The dark-haired cover model reminds me of someone. Very closely resembles someone I've either seen through media or have seen/kind of know through real life. It's wigging me out.
What do You think about Unexpected Mate (2013)?
Romance resolved too quickly, not enough conflict in story. May just have been my mood, but DNF. :(
