I liked the book. The plot was ok. However, I needed more mystery and some more action and I didn't like how easy the perpetrator was identified. As to the romance, Coop and Lil are good together and I kind of understand them both so it's hard to take sides. If I were a parent, I would have agreed with Coop (his breaking up with Lil when they were young) but as Lil, I really want to have the choice in a matter that concerns my own life. The ending was good, however a bit fast compared to the rest of the story. I expected this book to be a romance about the rich but neglected city boy and the well over country girl but it was much more than that. Whilst it follows their lives growing up and the changes that happen there is also an added excitement when they stumble upon a serial killer in his first steps. This then develops into an exciting thriller mystery. There is also an added bonus that the girl is realising her dream to set up an animal sanctuary (a dream of mine so I quickly identified with her!) and you learn more about the animals as well. I would really recommend this as a book that keeps you engaged and turning the pages to find out what happens next!
Fast paced, good character development. Enjoyed learning about cougars as a bonus
