Avery Hale grew up in an abusive home life, now she hates being touched unless its an emotionless one night stand. She thinks she will never find love because it doesn't exist and the people who are supposed to love you always hurts you and lets you down. She works as a stripper until on her way to work one night she is attacked and almost raped. She is saved by Jace. Owner of a cute small diner and sexy soul searing eyes that see right through her. After saving her he "saves" her by giving her a place to stay and a new job at his diner. Living with Jace is comfortable but confusing. He makes her fell like she never has before. He touches her. All. The Time. Unlike any other persons touch she almost craves Jace's which does not sit well with her. I did like this book. It was a quick, sweet, little read. Reading about Avery's past was heart wrenching and her awkwardness around people was uncomfortable, but when her and Jace start their little whirlwind friendship/relationship it was heartwarming and sweet. JACE!!!! Oh dear lord, what I wouldn't do for that boy!!Even though Wake up call follows Avery, to me Jace steals the whole show. Who doesn't love a tough guy with a gooey caramel centre!!! Yes please!I really enjoyed reading this book and to tell the truth I have read it more than once. The only thing that knocks it off the top spot for me is that I cant really fall in love with Avery, don't get me wrong her story pulls at my little heart-strings, just not quite enough. Avery is a tough cookie who has had a whole heap of crap dumped on her and you do get pulled in by her, but as I said its Jace that melts you into a puddle of goo. definitely should be on your to-read list!xoxo

Good book, slow in some spots - felt like the author used a lot of fillers!
