I absolutely love this series. So far I have read the first novella, and 3 full books of this series and can't wait to start the next one. I love the fact that there are 3 more already published and the author has more on the way.The series is about a small town and a group of friends and each book tells the life of one friend. It's very easy reading and with each book I've laughed and cried. I also love the fact that the author continues to include the other friends and what they are up to so I can continue with their stories as well. All of the books are just so sweet and it is just really neat to read about a group of friends that have been close their entire life and still into their thirties are still just as close!! WOW!!! I couldn't put this book down, I was up until 5:45 this morning to finish it. Callie & Levi are 2 wonderful characters, both with problems that are changing their lives. Callie's fighting for her life in a battle against liver disease, she's been given 6 months to live if they can't find a liver for her. She's doing it all on her own because she doesn't want her friends & family to look at her differently & pity her. Levi is a former soldier who served in Afghanistan & saw many horrors, among them the death of the young woman he fell in love with over there & their unborn child. Levi is roaming the country now with no particular destination in mind doing odd jobs along the way to live, when he's attacked by dogs just out side of town when his motorcycle breaks down. He makes his way to Callie's farm house for help & the two become friends after some fearful minutes. Their friendship is difficult at times because they are both fighting emotions they can't control. Neither are looking for a relationship because they don't have it in them, one from guilt & remorse & the other from illness & imminent death. Truths start to come out & life does change for both of them. I also like the fact that the story lines have continued on for the other characters like Baxter & his secret, Ted, Dylan & Cheyenne, Presley & Sophia. Definite recommend to read.
What do You think about When Summer Comes (2013)?
These are not getting any better. The characters are becoming less endearing.
