Considering I've sped through over half of the books in this series in less than a week, I'm clearly enjoying them. Honestly, though, I'm not sure WHY I am enjoying them so much. They are just cute and simplistic books with witchcraft and mystery thrown in.This was the first book so far where I didn't figure out the murderer right away. I still figured it out quicker than Maggie, but it took me a bit. The ending made me so happy! I hate Tom.On to the next one. I really like the idea of this series of books but this book seemed to be lacking something. The main character, Maggie, is an novice empath. She and two HS girls who work in the same shop as she does (and both have supernatural abilities as do several other characters), go to a carnival at a near-by church (trying to raise money for renovations). There is some drama during the carnival, but it seems kind of blase'. When they have to go back to the church to look for a lost item, they stumble across a murder. I won't say anything else about the plot since I don't want to give anything away, but it felt lacking. The supernatural aspect of the story just didn't seem "real". I almost felt like Ms. Alt was afraid she would offend someone if she went too far. Maybe if I read the first 4 books (or even the first book) in the series, this book will be a better read.
What do You think about Where There's A Witch (2009)?
It was quite a bit slower moving than the others. But at least she finally made her choice!

Another good series with Maggie and her journey to learn more about being an empath.
