Addison went with him to her office, and while she worked on cleaning the place up, Mason and the three prospects worked on installing the new windows at the front of her building. She vacuumed up the shattered glass and sorted through what she needed to keep and what she could throw away. “Addy, you okay?” He stopped in the doorway, peering inside as she sat at her desk. “Yeah. Why?” “You’re quiet. I didn’t know if something was wrong or not.” She shook her head. “I’m just sorting through stuff.” He moved towards her. “You want to take a break? Maybe get some lunch?” She nodded. That sounded nice. Her stomach growled to let her know she’d missed breakfast that morning. The Starbucks coffee Mason had sent one of the prospects for had done little to fill her up. She still lacked the energy she wished she had, but she didn’t fill nearly as bad as she had the night before. She liked to think Mason was the reason for that. He did his best to keep her mind off her house and the whole predicament they were in.
