Witch Twins (2002) - Plot & Excerpts

4 starsWitch Twins is book one of the series. It is pretty good story aimed at older elementry age or higher. The twins look a like but are way different. They try to help and sometimes they try to use witch craft but they are newer witches and get into trouble. Claire and Luna's dad is getting remarried and they are afraid they will loose him. That he will move away so they want to stop the wedding. The girls dont like change. It keeps your attention in the story and has some good lessons that the girls learn along the way.I would give this too my niece who loves to read. I think she would like it. I would read the other Witch Twins book in the series. It is fun story dealing with some real problems that a lot of kids face. No not the witch part.I was given this ebook to read in exchange for honest review of it from Netgalley.Description taken from Netgalley about Witch TwinsClaire and Luna may be witches, but there’s no easy spell to stop a wedding!Though identical on the outside, ten-year-old twins Claire and Luna Bundkin are as different on the inside as peaches and peanut butter. Claire is mischievous and Luna is a dreamer, but they do share a favorite hobby: witchcraft. Whether it’s making breakfast or washing dishes, there’s nothing a five-star witch can’t accomplish with a wave of her pinkie finger. But there are two strict rules: Don’t tell Mom, and don’t try any spells without Grandy—their magical grandmother—watching. When Claire and Luna’s father announces that he’s getting remarried to a loudmouthed Texas woman named Fluffy, the twins know they need to do something to stop the wedding. Fluffy wouldn’t be a bad stepmother, but Claire and Luna know that she would lure their father to far-away Houston. A spell might be the only way to save their Dad, and they’ll try anything. Even if magic usually lands them in a pot of trouble. This ebook features a personal history by Adele Griffin including rare images and never-before-seen documents from the author’s own collection. I absolutely loved the twins and their family and being a fan of witches and magic, I enjoyed the book a lot. So much in fact, I finished this book in just a day. Of course it's short and a kids book. The writing style was very very easy to read and I loved how each character was described in detail. The chapter names were fun and overall, it was a good book. I even used the book as comprehension to my cousin twins who are 10 and they enjoyed it. SYN: Luna and Claire are witches but their mother doesn't know! and when their dad plans to marry Fluffy, they vow to do everything in their power to make sure that the wedding does not happen and through working for first star and kittens, substitute teachers, family reunions and love potions gone wrong, Claire and Luna learn that some things does not need magic, only love!Fav Character: Luna! I might be biased to the name but I thought she was a lot like me and definitely the twin I'd click most with. Verdict: My tween sister loved it too, and so, I would recommend this to all tweens! She rarely loves a book.

What do You think about Witch Twins (2002)?

I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed this quick, fun read for older elementary children. The plot of the story is simple, and the author wastes no time getting right to the magic that makes this book so much fun. While the fledgling witch sisters experiment with magic and try to stop their father from marrying "Fluffy," they learn some valuable lessons along the way. This book is funny and the sisters are well developed characters that children could relate to easily. I liked their brother, Grandy and mom as well. The dialogue in this story is right on target and makes you believe you are really listening to the conversation of a couple of middle-school girls. A warning: after you read this book, you won't be able to love or hate anything anymore without love, love, loving it or hate, hate, hating it! By the end of the book there is a resolution to the major issues that fit the rest of the book nicely. I think this would be a great chapter book for young adults.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.Twins Claire and Luna, who happen to be witches, found out their father was getting remarried. They were concerned about the consequences. Both of the girls were spoiled but not in a mean way. They were a little snotty, somehow this was one of the things I liked about them. Neither of them liked change and were vocal about it. They usually found they liked the change that had taken place. One of the best parts of the book was the consequences to the cast spells. They weren't always bad, but there was something unexpected about all of them. I liked how they had to use their heads to fix the problems their magic did cause. The turnaround the girls have is very abrupt and the catalyst for their change of heart was rather small. At one point they felt one way then they looked around and felt the opposite. It could have been a little more involved to be more realistic, but the solution did leave everything warm and rosy.

Ten year old witch twins decide they do NOT want their father to marry "Fluffy," his flashy fiance from Texas! How do they try to stop the marriage? They attempt to use magic with their limited skills!Within this cute chapter book for young readers, you find a story told in a manner that will keep everyone's interest, with spot on dialogue, all while teaching a few lessons in a fun way! The book hits on topics that are current for the day, (divorce, re-marriage), in a way that ends up being very positive!Well done! This ARC copy was given to me by NetGalley and Open Road in exchange for an honest review!
