This book was ok. It wasn't great but it wasn't horrible. I've read worse. It had a different plot, which I appreciated. It wasn't your typical vampire romance book. If you can get past the teenage angst then you could probably enjoy it. My major complaint was this (!). This (!) is an exclamation mark. It's used when you want to exclaim something. A loud calling or crying out. It expresses outcry. This book had thousands of exclamation marks. I keep thinking, "Stop screaming at me!". (See how I used that exclamation mark? That was appropriate usage. Because I was mad and screaming it.) I wasn't so moved by this book that I will spend $3 to find out what happens next. Maybe if I was 17 I would. Jessica's whole money thing drove me crazy. Like why did the big vampire leader have to give her money? Daniel had money and loved her and created her. Why didn't he just give her money? That was just odd to me. Also I didn't like the whole Ava/Daniel relationship. It was weird. I would not recommend this book. Unless you have nothing else to read and can handle this! Every other sentence! I REALLY liked this book. This was actually sent to me to review a while back and I JUST got to it. So I apologize to the author for it taking me so long. I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I first started. I stayed away from all other reviews and ratings. I wanted to give this my own opinion. I like Jess' character. And I think eventually her character is going to grow into an uber powerful vampire/witch combo. And I really really want her and Daniel to work out. This is a fun paranormal read.
I liked it up until the very end. The ending was a little abrupt, but I understand it's a series.
