Oozes that Southern charm! This story was a fun, laid-back kind of read. Oh, there was drama and action too. But when Tamara's never-give-up attitude kicks in, you just know, somehow, things are going to be OK. And she has an ocelot! Those are some beautiful cats, although, not house cats. I'm excited to find out what happens between her and the two men in her life. I can't decide which one I like better. Now, on to the second book! 80%. DNF. Love triangles can be done well, but here I am, over half way done, with a real shitty lead character. There's a fade to black sex scene that I didn't even realize was a sex scene, seemed like making out from the description, until the character confesses to another person about it, and this fade to black sex scene occurs whilst she is still *with* her ex-husband, who believes he's still married to her, because divorces in a court of law just don't compute with the man. All her reasons for leaving him were great, and it was excellent that she made the mature decision to divorce him, but who the hell decides to on-and-off again date your ex-husband who has made no efforts to fix the problems you've had? So after her fade-to-black sex scene, her ex-husband picks her up, and he is obviously hurt by her actions (justified!) and she's sad, makes out with him, and basically continues the freakin' cycle!I thought I could handle a love triangle. I really enjoyed Bryn's moments, but I can't handle more than one book's level of this kind of "jerking the chain" that our lead is doing! And after looking at the summary's for the next 5 books in the series, it looks like even the last one has a continuing love triangle issue. What the hell. Isn't this kind of scenario essentially cheating at one point? You aren't a burger, stop flippin' back and forth. I'm out.
