You've Gone Too Far This Time, Sir! (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I really wasn't sure about this book. However it does give a flavour of the countries that Danny Bent cycled through to get to his destination of a school in India. He decides to cycle in aid of ActionAid. He sticks to his teaching principles of a trying to maintain a low carbon footprint by cycling the whole way. He meets many interesting people, and situations. He is also not opposed to sending himself up..... I enjoyed it despite my reservations at the start. If ever a book got me yearning to self propel my way around the world it was this one!Danny's travelogue plots his course overland from England through Europe, Eastern Europe and onwards through China, Pakistan and eventually to India on Shirley, his bicycle. It is insightful, funny and sometimes tragic but for all that makes you yearn for a life on the road.Grammar and spelling leaves a bit to be desired but hey, it's a travel book that must have written from notes and memory!

What do You think about You've Gone Too Far This Time, Sir! (2011)?

Excellent read. I felt like I'd cycled across to India as well, so vivid were the descriptions.
