Sorprendente y sutil ciencia ficción con toques de fantasía y mitología nórdica. Me ha sorprendido y gustado bastante este libro. Muchos relatos me habría gustado que la autora los hubiera convertido en novelas. En ocasiones sin embargo echo en falta un poco más de concreción. Es difícil encontrar el equilibrio entre el carácter sutil y la necesidad de proporcionar las datas necesarios para que la historia se comprenda perfectamente y sin dudas. En general, una autora sorprendente y delicada que merece la pena conocer. I I was completely enthralled by this collection of short stories by Karin Tidbeck, translated from Her native Swedish by the author herself. These are, for the most part, stories that inhabit the space between fantasy, science fiction and horror often refered to as weird fiction. Short-listed for the Tiptree award, many of the stories are told from the viewpoint of women, and deal, in one way or another, with variations on the themes of inheritance, bloodlines, reproduction. Tidbeck's brilliantly written tales are unsettling, disturbing, and rarely give the reader a clearly defined and closed off ending. Instead, she invites the reader to carefully consider the situation she presents, and come to their own conclusions about what happened, or will happen next.
