Zorgamazoo (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

Zorgamazoo is a unique and special findTruly this book is one of a kindIt is 280 pages of beautiful rhymeIt really is worth all of your time. This story's about a girl named Katrina Katrelland Mortimer the Zorgle has a good tale to tellThey save the world from dastardly schemesAnd nothing can stop this wonderful team. The characters are coolThe plot is a jewel. It's also a quick readWhat else do you need?(I wanted to try to rhyme this entire review but this is a lot harder than the author made it seem. It really is written in couplets, all 280 pages. It's a great book for all ages and if you can find someone to read it aloud with then I highly recommend it. It's definitely got the Dr. Seuss feel and I could see the addition of some Roald Dahl-esque plot thrown in the pot. Just beware that when you read this your brain does switch over to rhyming a little and it's a bit difficult to stop. But definitely worth the time it takes to read it. If only to bring a smile to your face because, come on, when/where else are you going to get 280 pages of rhyme?) This book one some award for the best read aloud of the year? No idea how. Entire book is written as a rhyme and it gets so ridiculous at times that it is easy to lose the story line, especially if you're 8 years old. The problem is that if you were to read it aloud to an older audience, one that would be able to comprehend the book easier, I can't imagine they would like the content. I guess there was a pretty solid moral in the end, but I can't recommend anyone try and read this to their class and without reading it out loud it would lose a lot of its appeal, so unless you want to sit in front of the mirror and read it aloud to yourself I would pass on this one big time.

What do You think about Zorgamazoo (2008)?

A book that rhymes from beginning to the end. While telling a fantastic story at the same time.
