It's very enjoyable with its amazing plot's and super cool characters although the art and fast pace sometimes gets confusing and you don't know whats actually happening. The Characters - Many super cool and bad ass characters. Could have done with more girls. The artist made most of its male characters cute, more roughness on them would have been better. The Plot - Lots and lots of intrigue. Loved the ending with the many twist thrown in. The whole manga is very fast paced with very few pages wasted on battle sequences. With the theme having political rivalry between military & religion its a great adventure. Loved the angels concept introduced in the mangaArt- While it looks very stylish at time's , it's also confusing. Focus was given to make the characters and panels look good instead of making them easy to read. On the eve of his military graduation, Teito Klein recalls a past long forgotten when his family's enemy appears. His flight leads him to the Barsburg church, home of the seven ghosts. There is much more to Teito than his hidden memories though, and now he must seek out the truth while fighting in the midst of a battle that will determine the fate of empires. In this world, the seven ghosts, grim reaper-like beings, are worshiped like deities because they protect mankind from Verloren and his soul-eating kors. The mythology behind this religion is well thought out, and plays directly into the story. The art is top quality with lots of dynamic action shots, expressive faces, and different perspective shots. It's weakest aspect is in its battles though. While they are brilliantly drawn, not enough pregnant moments are shown, so you need to spend some time piecing together what is happening. The panelling problems are bearable though because of the art, great characters, and fascinating premise. This fast-paced, exciting fantasy is well worth reading.
