11:15 The Making Of A Halfling (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
For a YA paranormal book, I thought it was pretty good. It intrigued me to read the book Half ling that this is the promo for.I do think that this series has the typical YA quirks. It has some cheese, unrealistic characters, apparently half lings and those they interact with are incredibly gorgeous. This is a common trait in YA that I have noticed over the years though and nothing new.The story itself, is about beings that are half angels and half humans referencing scripture in Genesis when the sons of God had the women that were daughters of man. The parents are not in the halflings lifes for their own safety apparently and the halflings are under the care of an angel. In this promotional story, we meet the halflings Mace, Raven and Vine who are under the care of the angel, Will. At the beginning of this story, Vine has not 'matured' as a halfling yet.Its a cute story. Quick read. I read 11:15 The Making of a Halfling By Heather Burch a few months after I read the first book 'Halfling', which got a 4 star review from me. I found 11:15 The Making of a Halfling a quick 15 minute easy read for me and it gave readers, who haven't yet read the first book 'Halflings' a quick introduction to Mace, Raven, Vine and Will as we get to see how Vine became a Halfling first hand. As a added bonus we catch a glimpse of Nikki, who is a main chatcher in the first book Halflings. All in all, it was a quick, fun and entertaining light read and the illustrated picture were gorgeous to look at, I'm giving it 4 stars. I just wished it was longer.
