I have to admit that I jumped into book 5 not realizing that the murders had begun in a previous book and they are not solved in this one either, they go into book 6. I'm not one for mysteries that go unsolved through a series of books; I like the mystery solved by the end of the book I'm reading. Besides that, however, my issue was with the main character. While likable enough, I really disliked the fact that she's dangling 3 men on the line and every other guy wants her. It got in the way of the story for me. I'm sure enough people here have summarized the book, so I won't be doing that, but will tell you what I liked. The story moved right along and kept you interested. The dialogue was not fluff, it was used to move the story. The cast of characters were well developed. As I said my issue was with everyone wanting to bed the main character. Also, all the other characters were trying to hook up, as well. It seemed it was all anyone was thinking about. If you like that storyline, then you would like the book, it is well written; if you need more focus on the plot, then look elsewhere. Books 4, 5 and 6 are one long storyline. They need to be read together and one ends and the other begins minutes later. The plot is great and the romantic square is a mess. Carlotta keeps finding herself is the middle of the police investigation of the Charmed Killer. Michael Lange is still on the loose and Carlotta has moved to Peter's house, which has Jack feeling things (like jealousy) and he is not happy about that. Peter thinks that it shows that Carlotta really wants to make a life with him, except he has a little problem that could turn out to be a big problem. Coop is drinking again and may have a serious medical condition, which is the least of his worries at the end of the book.Wesley is really out of control and I know that prescription drug dependence is a real bad problem, but Wesley is a smart kid and he needs to get help. He is getting deeper into the Cutters organization and doing things in addition to intimidation collections. Wesley has attracted the attention of Meg and is about to mess that up too.
